BHEL 15 MW Extraction-Condensing Turbine — Post-Overhaul Lube Oil Flush
Scope of Work
Post-overhaul lube oil system flushing using mobile centrifuge filter unit. Target cleanliness: ISO 4406 ≤16/14/11 for main lube oil circuit and ≤15/13/10 for control oil circuit.
The Challenge
The lube oil system had significant metallic contamination from the overhaul. Three previous flush attempts by another contractor failed to achieve target cleanliness on the control oil circuit.
Our Solution
We deployed our purpose-built mobile centrifuge flush unit with a dedicated low-volume high-velocity sub-circuit for the control oil ring. By day 3 the main circuit was at 15/13/10 and by day 5 both circuits met their cleanliness targets, confirmed by third-party particle count reports.
Measured Outcomes
- Main lube oil circuit: ISO 4406 15/13/10 ✓
- Control oil circuit: ISO 4406 14/12/9 ✓ (better than target)
- Both circuits cleared in 5 days vs. the 10-day contingency window
- Turbine cleared for first fire without further delay
