Agro & Food Processing
Steam turbine co-gen, filtration & rubber products for agro-processing facilities
Industry Overview
Agro-processing (from rice milling and solvent extraction to dairy and food manufacturing) increasingly uses captive steam co-generation to reduce energy costs. These facilities need reliable turbine maintenance, food-grade hose and filter products, and vibration isolation solutions for sensitive processing machinery. Keshav Enterprises provides the full range of products and services needed across the agro-industrial sector.
Key Applications
- Back-pressure turbine overhauling for rice mills and ginning factories
- Lube oil filter element supply for small packaged turbines
- Expansion joint supply for steam distribution lines
- Basket strainer elements for process water lines
- HVAC filters for food-grade production environments
Key Challenges We Solve
Food-Grade Material Requirements
Hose, seals, and filtration in food contact areas must use FDA-approved materials: PTFE, food-grade EPDM, and stainless steel with polished surfaces.
Seasonal Load Variation
Agro co-gen turbines see wide load variation with crop seasons. This leads to faster blade erosion and thermal cycling fatigue than in constant-load power plants.
Tank Breathing Contamination
Edible oil storage tanks must be protected from airborne dust and moisture through the breather path: contamination affects product quality and shelf life.
Machinery Vibration in Food Plants
Hammer mills, centrifuges, and packaging machinery transmit vibration to floors and adjacent equipment. Isolation is required to maintain hygienic connections.
Products We Supply for Agro & Food Processing
FDA-Grade PTFE Hose Assemblies
Flexible hose for food-grade fluid transfer: CIP/SIP chemical circulation, product lines, and steam injection in food-grade environments.
- PTFE inner core, FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant
- Electro-polished SS316 end fittings
- Tri-clover (sanitary) end connections available
Air Breather & Tank Breather Filters
Protects edible oil storage tanks from dust and moisture ingression through the vent path, preventing contamination of stored product.
- Desiccant silica gel + fine particulate media
- Visual saturation colour indicator
- Replacement cartridge design for easy servicing
Y-Type & Conical Strainers
Inline strainers on process fluid lines, pump suction, and boiler feed water systems, protecting equipment from scale and process debris.
- SS mesh basket, mesh size 40 to 400 µm
- Screwed or flanged connections
- Simple inline cleanout without line break
Custom Extruded Rubber Profiles & Seals
Custom extruded rubber damping strips isolate vibration from hammer mills, centrifuges, compressors, and packaging machinery, protecting both the machine and adjacent food processing areas.
- EPDM, Neoprene, Nitrile, or Natural Rubber compound options
- Custom cross-section extruded to drawing or sample
- Available with pressure-sensitive adhesive backing
Rubber Expansion Joints (Single-Arch)
Flexible pump connector on cooling water, chilled water, and process water circuits, absorbing pump vibration and thermal movement.
- EPDM or natural rubber tube
- PN10/16 flanged, also screwed ends
- Working temperature –20°C to +130°C
Steam Turbine Maintenance (Triveni, Maxwatt)
Planned overhaul of agro co-gen back-pressure steam turbines: gland ring replacement, bearing inspection, and rotor balance check.
- Inter-season overhaul scheduling
- Carbon gland ring machined in-house
- Trial run and vibration sign-off included
HVAC Pocket Bag Filters (Food Plant Air Handling)
Multi-pocket bag filters for food processing facility AHUs: removes airborne flour, starch dust, and mould spores from supply air to production areas, cold stores, and packaging lines.
- F7 / F8 efficiency for allergen and mould spore capture
- Synthetic polyester media: moisture-tolerant for humid food environments
- Standard AHU frame sizes; custom dimensions on request
- Complements GMP air quality requirements for food-grade zones
