Maxwatt 3.5 MW Co-Gen Turbine — Greenfield Erection & Commissioning
Scope of Work
Complete erection of steam turbine, gearbox, alternator, condenser, lube oil system, and all associated piping and cable work. OEM witness commissioning.
The Challenge
The turbine arrived on-site with incorrect baseframe grouting drawings. Civil work had to be re-assessed and corrected before erection could begin, compressing the available commissioning window.
Our Solution
Our site engineers coordinated with the civil contractor to correct the grouting pockets within 48 hours. Turbine, gearbox, and alternator were erected, aligned (shaft alignment to <0.02 mm TIR), and all pre-commissioning checks completed. Synchronisation achieved on the first attempt during OEM witness run.
Measured Outcomes
- First synchronisation achieved on commissioning day — no punch-list delays
- Shaft alignment achieved at 0.016 mm TIR — within OEM tolerance
- Lube oil flushed to ISO 4406 cleanliness 16/14/11 before first run
- Plant accepted turbine with zero snag items on OEM punch-list
